Ande Whyland brings a long, varied career in photography to your wedding, commitment ceremony or event. She has spent more than a decade as an event photographer for weddings, parties and corporate functions. Her photographs of New York's avant garde fashion and nightlife scenes have been exhibited and published worldwide. A long-time resident of New York City, she has been working professionally as a photographer for more than ten years. Her background is in performance and events, clubs and parties. She has been published in a wide range of books and magazines including Art After Midnight, The Whitney Museum's The American Century 1950-2000, Artforum, Harper's Bazaar, and American Theatre Magazine.
Thousands of celebrations have passed through her lens and her photos capture the unique joy of each. They also catch the spirit and emotions of the day, that spontaneous quality created and shared by the participants.
Ande Whyland will document your event in a discreet, photojournalistic style, capturing both posed and candid shots, with an eye for details and an artist's flair. She can work within most budgets. Whether it's two people or 200, she devotes the time and attention needed to deliver beautiful photos that tell the story of your occasion.
Dany Johnson is Ande's long-time second shooter and an experienced event photographer in her own right. She has shot hundreds of events with Ande and by herself. Dany is a graduate of CUNY's Communications and Culture program. She is also a licenced New York City Wedding Officiant available for non-denominational wedding ceremonies.
